Restaurant Ceki @ Sri Bahari Road

Along Sri Bahari Road is a string of Chinese and Peranakan restaurants. Restaurant Ceki is one of the 3 Peranakan restaurants, all within 2 minutes walk of each other. Ceki is recommended by food critics, judging by the reviews I found on the walls. The signature dishes are the pork trotters and fish in Assam Sauce. My dessert of Pengat was RM9.90.

I had an interesting conversation at Ceki with Bee, a Nyonya cookbook author and ex Perth restaurant operator who has just finished her third self published Nyonya cookbook which is available at the E&O. She kindly let me take a look at the cookbook which has more than 200 heritage recipes from her family’s collection. If you are at E&O why not check it out at the gift shop? I previously reviewed “Penang Makan” by Dayana Wong. See my review here and the book signature appearance by the author at a tea tasting session at Ten Yee tea house here.
