China House 👍@Beach Street
A chic cafe with Instagramable interiors filled with bric a brac, China House $$$ is popular with well heeled Millennials. The dim interiors set off beautifully the $$$ cakes for which China House is renowned for. Normally, China House will be packed to the rafters with tourists, all eager to pay RM25++ to try their signature salted caramel cheesecake $$$. But I had no problems getting a table at 3pm for my second tea break of the day.
The decor is modern Chinoserie - lots of wall mirrors, dark wood displays with dim overhead lighting. Walls have been left in their original condition, cracks and all. The high ceiling rafters look original but have been repainted in white.
My order of a slice of 🍋 drizzle cake plus a lime juice was RM21.
