Bean Sprout @Pitt Street
The Bean Sprout Cafe at Pitt Street takes its Instagramable Shabby Chic interior decor design to the extreme. In the main dining room, two out of four walls have completely exposed brickworks. As is the bar counter which is constructed from bricks. The mosaic tiles look dirty. But yours truly is not quite sure this is by design 🙂. My cup of latte was RM12.
There are 4 other rooms on the ground floor. Floors are bare cement. Tables and chairs are wood or cane/wicker. The Bean Sprout seems popular with Millennials as a place to chill. As it is directly opposite the Kuan Yin temple, the cafe also benefits from the tourist trade.
Upstairs accessible by a steep staircase is a non air-conditioned open air veranda overlooking the street with good views of the Kuan Yin temple.
