Nyonya Set lunch @Richard Rivalee, Macalister Lane

Richard Rivalee’s Nyonya restaurant relocated to new premises at Macalister Lane from Pulau Tikus last November. At Macalister Lane, the restaurant occupies just the ground floor. The upper floor is operated as a guest house by the proprietor.
The interiors of the house are sumptuous with Peranakan bric-a-brac (wedding baskets, beaded slippers, tingkat, porcelain vases and kuih moulds) adorning the walls. Besides the main dining room, there are two private dining rooms, one at the front of house that is richly decorated to resemble an upper class dining room of a private residence.
The central air well has a indoor koi pond and vertical garden that seems to be a favourite place for customers to take snapshots after their lunch. My set lunch was RM25. 👍A dessert of sago pudding dyed blue with Gula Melaka was RM11. 👍 The food at Richard Rivalee’s was expertly cooked and well presented by servers in batik shirts or nyonya style Kebayas like you see worn by MAS or SIA flight attendants. Richard Rivalee is also an award winning designer.
