Yum Cha Tea Parlour @Church Street

Yum Cha in Cantonese literally means drink tea. In Hong Kong and in Chinatowns around the world, Yum Cha restaurants specialise in dim sum (steamed or deep fried food served Tapas style in small plates) that is usually accompanied by pots of tea to wash down all the oil.
The Yum Cha Tea Parlour at Church Street is a modern take on old skool Yum Cha restaurants with its neon pink signage and bold Color Palette of Crimson Red and Iridescent Blue.
Also in a nod to the traditional wood dining booths and marble topped tables found in old skool Yum Cha restaurants are modern versions upholstered in blue pleather. Like in old skool restaurants in Chinatowns, the white marble topped tables here have a hidden drawer that holds cutlery and paper towels.
Service is friendly and efficient. Food is attractively presented on black platters. My lunch order of Ayam Masak Merah and Hong Kong style iced Milk Tea was RM28.50. The restaurant also runs a High Tea promotion of two dim sum plates plus a pot of tea for RM20 from 3pm to 6pm. 👍
