Good Taste Kitchen Dim Sum @ Kennedy Town
A previously one star Michelin dim sum restaurant in Kennedy Town, the Good Taste Kitchen Dim Sum restaurant is famous for its BBQ buns (roast pork filling). The interior decor is plain and no frills but you come here for the food. Most of the dine in customers are locals. Service is friendly and efficient. Like most dim sum restaurants in Hong Kong, there is a two tier pricing policy. The dim sum is cheaper before 10 am.
You can watch the kitchen staff at work preparing dim sum for the steaming station. Kennedy Town is a working class area, but parts have rapidly gentrified since the MTR line was extended to the suburb a couple of years ago. The restaurant’s mainly blue collar regulars still expect value for money food, so the dim sum portions are big. Just look at the size of the beef ball below- it’s easily 30% bigger than those sold in more fancy dim sum restaurants.

6 dim sum plus tea cost HKD172. Prices have gone up since I last visited! But the portions are big. Check out the size of the beef balls 😋
