TaeTea tea house @ Jalan Kelawei

The Jalan Kelawei branch of Taetea is bigger than its HQ in Lebuh Cintra and houses an interesting display of TaeTea's 82 year old history of tea making in Yunnan on its upper floor. TaeTea is a premium Chinese brand with more than 2,000 outlets in China. The company operates its own warehouses and tea factories in China.

Taetea sells two types of tea - the ordinary tea for day to day drinking , priced from RM11 up and $$$ special tea for celebrations, weddings and special occasions. The tea house at Jalan Kelawei also sells tea brewing paraphernalia eg automatic boiling kettles, teapots - including their own line of fine tea pots, and tea cups. It has several tables set up to demonstrate tea brewing.

Staff are friendly and well informed of all aspects of tea culture. I bought a RM60+ canister of floral Pu’er tea and was invited for a tea tasting session where my questions about tea making, tea branding and marketing were answered. 👍
