Nero Nero @ King Street
Part of the Cinnamon group, Nero Nero at King Street is yet another upmarket Italian restaurant to open in Georgetown. The restaurant has an bar at front of house, an indoor sandstone fountain, a wine cellar and serves classics like pizza, seafood and pasta.
Service is excellent. The waiters are property trained to be unobstrusive yet they are on hand to answer questions. I saw the chef demonstrate how ravioli is hand made at Nero Nero.
There is free complimentary focaccia bread with two olive and tomato tapenades. A nice touch. My order of fritto mare (fried calamari and prawns) and 4 cheese pizza was RM101.20.
Post Script
I don’t think Nero Nero has any connection with Nero Vivo, a famous Italian restaurant at Bukit Ceylon, KL that I recollect used to serve the best thin crust pizza in KL. I still have fond memories of the lunch buffet and the wood fired pizza with Gorgonzola cheese and pear slices. Alas, I think the original owners of Nero Vivo sold out and standards declined under the new management.
