Ink House @ Stanley Street, Central

I visited the Ink House at Stanley Street, Central, a boutique writing instruments and ink shop. It's been around since October 2018. There is a striking wall display of ink bottles just visible from the street. But the ink bottles are just for display. The sales staff mentioned there is no real ink in the bottles.

Inside, the fountain pens on sale range from the affordable to the very $$$. The major brands carried by the shop are Visconti, Lamy, Sailor, Platinum, Aurora, Montegrappa and Opus 88, a Taiwanese brand of affordable pens. I was interested in an affordable Opus 88 pen with a barrel covered with abalone shells from New Zealand. I used to own a similar but a limited edition Ancora fountain pen that cost 5x more ( but the Ancora was fitted with a flexible 18K nib).

Ink House has a second and larger branch at the Elements Mall, Kowloon.

Service is friendly, and I found the staff were knowledgeable about fountain pens. I bought two Rhodia notebooks with specially coated paper made for fountain pen ink for HKD 33.
