M+ Museum

You need to make an online reservation to get admission into Hong Kong’s first visual arts museum at the West Kowloon Cultural district. The M+ Museum is housed in a block near the waterfront. Its design reminds me of generic 1950s Brutalist architecture like the Southbank in London, rather than anything unique to cosmopolitan Hong Kong.

The color palette seems to be deliberately monochrome grey. There are lots of bare cement floors and walls. Ceilings are very high.

As there were no available slots at the time, I wandered around the Museum’s shop, cinema and cafe, taking pictures of the visitors lucky enough to get admission.
