Urban Daybreak @ Bishop Street

Urban Daybreak at Bishop Street is an Australian style cafe that serves smashed avocado toast and a strange dish of waffles with fried chicken with maple syrup. It's refreshing to see a cafe without exposed brickwork walls in Penang. The interior decor is modern contemporary with terracotta floor tiles and white walls. Lighting fixtures are simple wall lights and ceiling strip lights.

The customers seem to be a mix of expats and local Millennials.

The ordering system is a bit complex. First you down load the menu by scanning a pictogram. Then you pay for your order online and sit back and wait for the kitchen to prepare your meal.

Service is friendly and efficient. My order of waffles, maple syrup and fried chicken was RM38.50.
