Ng Kee Cake Shop@ Cintra Street

I bought some traditional Chinese cookies and a Rabbit shaped Mid Autumn pastry from Ng Kee Cake Shop at Cintra Street. Like some Hong Kong Chinese pastry shops that have gone upmarket, Ng Kee which was founded in 1900 has updated its packaging for its traditional baked pastries. Now all its pastries have packed in paper with clear plastic so buyers can see what's inside. The shop which is run by the 4th generation bakes all its pastries in house.

Besides it’s traditional pastries, Ng Kee also sells an assortment of hand made moon cakes with traditional lotus seed filling or mixed nuts. There were fun animal shaped pastries shaped like pigs and rabbits, and pastries encased in bright red plastic for children. I also spotted an unusual ingot shaped moon cake filled with mango.
