Musion Mansion@Lorong Popus CLOSED
A fine dining restaurant in a historic Jawi Peranakan mansion, Musion Mansion (since 2021) $$$ offers high tea (RM128 for two) and a degustation dinner (RM258 pax). The restaurant was packed with locals and visitors on the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year.
After sighting the RM128++ High Tea’s tiny portions, yours truly decided to order the profiteroles @RM18++(French choux stuffed with chocolate cream) and a latte. RM14++. And yes, my two profiteroles that came with a scoop of ice cream were tiny too. 😏🤠. My tea time order cost RM35.20
The interior decor is an electric mix. The main dining room had Peranakan antiques and Asian objects d art (eg brass gongs and food containers) with crystal chandeliers, a wall hung cello, a white baby grand piano. There are another five private dining rooms.
The waiters wear ties and smart black suits. In the porch adjoining the main dining area, there are more tables for alfresco dining. An interesting water feature overlooks the alfresco dining area.
An annexe to the mansion houses a small bar with seating for pre- dinner cocktails and the kitchens. The courtyard outside the annexe has some interesting steampunk sculptures.
