Durian Baby @ Aceh Street

Durian Baby at Aceh Street is a two months old gelato cafe selling durian ice cream and durian layer cakes. The cafe has two types of durian gelato -D24 and premium Musang King. As the cafe had a store promotion (buy 1 next 1 at 50% off) I asked for a two scoops Musang King gelato in a waffle cone (extra RM2) . My total bill was RM22.75. If durian isn't your favourite, the cafe has other gelato flavours to try.

One of the proprietors offered me a free Musang King moon cake made from 100% durian pulp in a mochi casing. While waiting for the frozen moon cake to defrost, he explained his company's upcoming Mid Autumn promotion next week. Buyers of the premium Durian Moon Cake box (containing 3 Musang King and 3 Black Thorn moon cakes) will be entitled to a free Durian pizza.

His family has a durian farm in Penang and exports durians to China and Singapore. The retail outlet at Aceh Street, he explained, is to test demand for durian products that can be sold all year round.
