HKU Museum @ Pokfulam Road

I went to see a retrospective exhibition by Brian Tilbrook, an expat painter who is based in Hong Kong, entitled "Past & Present" at University Museum and Art Gallery, HKU 香港大學美術博物館 . His works span landscapes and historical buildings in the 1960s to more abstract works recently. Brian Tilbrook was Head of Art at Island School.

“Eternal Transience, Enlightened Wisdom” is the name of an exhibition of masterpieces of Buddhist art and sculpture from Nepal at the University Museum and Art Gallery, HKU 香港大學美術博物館 . One of the exhibits was a fine brass statute of the Shakyamuni Buddha made by Nepalese artisans using the lost wax method.:

Arriving early I spotted a yoga instructor laying out Tibetan singing bowls and various music instruments for a singing bowl meditation at lunch hour. Tickets were sold out for her performances this week. She explained to me the long bamboo rod was a Tibetan musical instrument - it contained seeds that rattled when shaken.
