Emily's Steak House@Muntri Street
Emily's Steak House at Muntri Street is housed in a two story building. There are two main dining areas on the GF, next to airwells and courtyards. Upstairs are private dining rooms.
The decor is supposed to look like a traditional English steak house with exposed brickworks walls and chequer board tiles. British and Malaysian flag buntings adorn one wall. There is an indoor garden with koi pond and vertical garden in the outer courtyard.
Staff are super friendly and efficient. I think the food served by Emily's is perhaps a Malaysian version of English gastropub fare. For example my seafood paella tasted heavily of tomato ketchup, instead of olive oil and saffron.
Emily is apparently a Malaysian in her late 30s and with her husband runs a steak house in Derby, UK. Emily's is a chain and there is a KL branch in a 5* hotel. The Penang branch is I believe the biggest outlet. It relocated to Muntri Street a year ago.
