Viennese Pork Ribs @Edelweiss cafe, Armenian Street

A 20+ year old cafe at a heritage House at the heart of touristy Armenian Street, Edelweiss is open for dinner on weekdays and Saturdays. The cuisine is German /Austrian, paired with imported German beers.

The interior decor of Edelweiss Cafe is quirky. There is a very large mechanical clock that chimes the hours occupying pride of place in the main dining room. And lots of antique and Art Deco lamps, mirrors and objects d'art, including custom pieces made by the proprietor, a ex jeweller. Every corner and nook seems to have an interesting antique piece.

For my dinner served at a table in the inner courtyard, I had the Edelweiss’s CNY specials - Viennese Pork Ribs with BBQ sauce and a St Tropez cocktail with vodka and fruit juice. RM70. The pork ribs had been steamed until fork tender, then coated in breadcrumbs and deep fried until crispy. 👍👍
