600cc @Lebuh Bishop
A fast food Taiwanese restaurant that is part of a chain of two outlets, 600cc $$ moved from E Gate to Lebuh Bishop recently. It has another outlet at Butterworth. Service is friendly. The unusual name -600cc- came about apparently because food takeaway in Taiwan is usually packed in 500cc boxes, but Malaysia they are hard to find, so the owners came up with 600cc instead.
The decor is mostly plain white wood tables and chairs. 600cc’s menu is displayed on its walls, you can also download it via Quick Code. No need to touch a paper menu!
The restaurant mascot - a cow- features prominently as a wall decoration. 600cc cut its reputation for milk based desserts and drinks.
My order of a Taiwanese dessert of shaved ice with peanut butter and black tea pearls was delicious. The bowl of traditional Taiwanese beef noodlles came with beef balls and shredded daikon. 600cc’s version of beef noodles - a dish that is eaten for breakfast lunch and dinner in Taiwan like CKT is in Malaysia- has been spiced up with a red chilli to cater to the local palate. I think 600cc must have run out of carrots - the other traditional ingredient besides daikon that goes into Taiwanese beef noodles.
My total bill was RM41. Fairy reasonable because the portions, especially the desserts are big enough for two.
