Spice Garden @ Rasa Sayang Resort, Batu Ferringhi

After a viewing at the Marin, a new seaside condominium at Bath Ferringhi with wonderful views of the Andaman Sea, I popped into the Spice Garden restaurant at Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa by Shangrila. As I remembered it, the Spice Garden is the hotel’s all day dining restaurant serving local and international fare- the Rasa also has a fine dining restaurant, Ferringhi Grill - that had good CKT. Prices have gone up since the last time I stepped in - the CKT is now RM36. So I decided to order the RM75 rack of lamb instead. As expected for a 5* establishment, my medium done rack of lamb was grilled perfectly to my liking. While waiting, I was served complimentary crackers and a mango dip. Service was friendly and efficient. The Spice Garden also serves the All-U-Can-Eat weekend and Fridays seafood and international cuisine buffets that Rasa Sayang is famous for, but the prices have also gone up.

After lunch I walked over to the seafront besides the outdoor pool. If my memory is correct there used to be a strip of sandy beach but the seaside area seems to have shrunk considerably. There is now a sea wall of rocks where I envisaged where the beach was more than 10 years ago?
