The Bed KLCC @ Jalan Sultan Ismail

When the Bed KLCC was opened, I stayed a night at this posh 5* hostel on two floors at a serviced residence at Jalan Sultan Ismail where the beds are in pods or capsules. Showers and toilets are shared. There is a separate room for only females.

The price then was RM40+ per night but in 2022 I am sorry to report the price has gone up to RM60+ per night.

The community areas like the kitchen are equipped with 5* appliances. The lounge has a funky table made from a car hood, a fireplace complete with crackling wood fire 🔥 (actually a LCD), bean bags and leather sofas and wooden bookshelves. Free WiFi is provided.

The Bed's USP is its superb location, just 5 minutes walk to the Twin Towers. My favourite KL hotel - the Shangri-la - is just opposite. Since the 1980s, when I used to visit KL regularly as an investment analyst, the Shangri-la KL has been one of my favourite places for lunch (Arthur's Grill is a casual place to have a nice steak) and dinner (Zipangu is one of the best Japanese restaurants in KL)
