CKT @ Hock Poh Lye kopitiam, Penang Street

The Char Kuay Teow stall at Hock Poh Lye kopitiam at Penang Street is one of the cheapest in town at RM5.50 for a small plate with egg. But of course at this price, you get just three small prawns. Despite a gas fired wok, I think there is a reasonable amount of Wok Hei flavours in the CKT which is fried with slivers of Chinese sausage and chives.

The Hock Poh Lye kopitiam is non air conditioned and is old skool. Besides the CKT stall, the other stand out is the economic or mixed rice stall that offers a variety of cooked food dishes with rice.
