Sutera @ Armenian Street

Located in two heritage shophouses at Armenian Street Sutera is the latest restaurant by the people behind two established Malay cuisine restaurants in Penang - Irama, a fine dining restaurant at Penang Road and the mid market Lagenda at Carnavon Street. Sutera offers fine Asian fusion food marrying Malay cuisine with Western cuisine, served in upmarket surroundings.

I was there for their dessert, and ordered one of my favourites, Bubur Cha Cha - a Santan based sweet dessert usually served with bananas, yam, sweet potato, and sago. But having already tasted the desserts at Irama and Lagenda, it was disappointing to find the version at Sutera seemed to have just banana slices. 😢 My bill was RM11.
