Laksalicious@Hutton Road
A unpretentious restaurant at Hutton Road serving Lemak laksa and Asam Laksa and Nyonya desserts. I had a bowl of the Laksalicious signature santan based “Lemak laksa” and the shrimp fritters. My total bill was RM27. But the order of 5 shrimp fritters is big enough for two diners.
The shrimp fritters are made of gerago, a type of shrimp used to make chincalok, a famous fermented shrimp paste from Malacca that smells like something is rotting . Chincalok is therefore somewhat of an acquired taste. If you can get past the pungent smell of something rotting, it has a salty umami taste that goes well in omelettes with seafood.
