RM98 Set lunch @Suffolk House

Suffolk House is one of the best restorations of a Georgian style mansion in Malaysia. Set in extensive grounds at Air Hitam, Suffolk House offers a fine dining experience in its opulent dining room with its wall tapestries , pink feature walls, extra tall ceilings and chandeliers. Set lunches, high tea for two and set dinners are the highlights at Suffolk House but a small a la carte menu is also available. Guests can order pre dinner cocktails and drinks at a bar and reception room.
Service as expected from a 5 * restaurant is friendly and efficient.
The Asian fusion food is prepared by a Dutch expat chef and is well presented. My main of lamb shank was served with dry korma sauce with potato masala. The dessert of banana crepe came with a scoop of coconut ice cream. But the standout item was the mushroom soup with croutons and a generous sprinkling of fresh herbs. The fruity cocktail was complimentary when I showed my business card and told staff I was there mainly to take photos for my food blog. My bill was RM98.60. 👍
The upper floor is currently under renovation. When reopened next week, high teas will be served in rooms there. On the ground floor besides the main dining room, there are several private dining rooms capable of accommodating large and small parties, a drawing room with a baby grand piano and a tea room. An exhibition showing the restoration work is housed in a small room off the main dining room. There is additional outdoor seating under a portico adjacent to the drawing room and in a gazebo annexe.
