Halab 👍👍@Chulia Street
Halab $$$ is a fine dining restaurant that serves Syrian food. It occupies a double storey building at Chulia Street with distinctive green window shutters and doors.
The interior decor doesn't look particularly Middle Eastern with dark green velour drapery and teal and grey dining chairs. Walls are exposed brickworks.
Halab is popular with locals - plenty of families came to dine as well as expats. It was nearly full house despite my arrival at 330pm. I suppose Arabs dine late.
Service was efficient. My table at a corner next to the entrance door was ready within 5 minutes. But I thought the food took a long time to be served. Turns out my order of Lebanese spiced minced lamb sandwiched between flatbreads then grilled till the bread was crisp was made to order. It was very good. 👍 Less successful though was the Turkish coffee served in a tiny copper flask. No sugar cube was provided.
The bill for the minced lamb in flatbread and coffee was RM42.
