Occupying two shopfronts, the Mugshot Cafe $$ shares space with the Rainforest Bakery & Cake Shop $$$. You can pay with Touch n Go. Decor is what I call Shabby Chic with a bit of Bohemian Hippy. There is a small open air oven for toasting bagels and pizzas - a nice touch. Popular with locals and expat travelers.

The cafe serves good latte @ RM15 up and hot food eg pastas and bagels - eg a toasted sesame seed bagel with cream cheese and salmon for RM14. One of the best bagels I had in Penang.

The Rainforest cake shop is the star attraction though. Prices range from $$ to $$$. But just take a look through the glass display ! These are artisanal cakes that are indeed world class. Prices range from RM11++ to RM25++. But the cake slices are big portions, big enough to share if you are a dainty diner.

My slice of v good banana cake was RM12,++. Rainforest also sells lunch sandwiches eg egg mayo and avocado and croissants eg cheese and ham
