Jorg Hysek Carbon Fibre FP

The Jorg Hysek fountain pen does not have a traditional cap with a clip. Instead, one end screws off to reveal a two tone gold nib. The clip is held instead in a leather sheath into which the pen is inserted. Made of chromed brass with a central barrel of carbon fibre, the Jorg Hysek pen was an unusual fountain pen when it was launched circa 1998. Unscrewing the longer chromed end though reveals a standard converter.

Although the brand is still around, Jorg Hysek now only produces luxury watches. The pen line which included similar styled ball point pens was discontinued some time ago.

In use, the gold nib writes well. But I think the small chromed cap over the nib is easily misplaced after taking it off. And apparently the chromed barrel is somewhat susceptible to wear. Some users reported the chromed surface wears down to show the brass after prolonged use.
