Musical Fidelity V DAC II

The Musical Fidelity VDAC II was introduced around 2012 and cost USD 340. It has 3 inputs including a asynchronous USB (up to 24 bit/96 kHz) for connecting to a PC or Mac and an optical for TV and coaxial to a preamp. For a 10+ year old product it outperforms newer DACs for around the same price, especially if the 12 V power supply is upgraded to a linear power supply.

I use a Chinese made LPS that supplies that simultaneously powers the VDAC II and a Tripath amplifier by Trends Audio.
